For all EU countries, the directive 2003/58/EC comes into force
this year meaning that all businesses have to include information
such as company registration number and registered address on all
electronic communications (including email).
In the UK this came into effect on January 1st 2007 through an
amendment to the Companies Act and applies to every Limited Company
and Limited Liability Partnership. Every single business in the UK
is now required by law to state their company details on every email
sent from their organization. Failure to comply will result in a
fine of up to £1,000.
This change has also affected other EU member states. We have
