System Requirements

The list below shows the basic system requirements for Exclaimer Mail Utilities.

Exclaimer Mail Utilities can run in a number of configurations and environments, including on an Exchange 2000/2003/2007 server or on a Windows 2000/2003/2008 server without Exchange installed.

The performance of the server will depend upon the email load, disclaimer complexity and the complexity of the rules that you have set up. In a normal environment, Exclaimer Mail Utilities can be installed on an Exchange server without affecting throughput.

Operating System

For Exchange 2000 & 2003

Windows Server 2000 (all versions), Windows Server 2003 (all versions) and Windows Server 2008 x86 (all versions)

Note - In a multi-server environment, Exclaimer Mail Utilities can be centrally maintained from a Windows Vista, XP or 2000 workstation installation.

For Exchange 2007

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 (all versions), Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 (all versions) and Windows Server 2008 x64 (all versions).

Processor

For Exchange 2000 & 2003

800MHz (Megahertz) or better

For Exchange 2007

x64 architecture-based computer with Intel processor that supports Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) or AMD processor that supports the AMD64 platform; Intel Itanium family IA64 processors are not supported.

RAM

For Exchange 2000 & 2003

256MB (Megabytes) or better

For Exchange 2007

2 GB of RAM per server or better

Free Hard Disk Space

30MB (Megabytes) or better

Monitor

Super VGA (800 x 600) resolution or better

Video Card

4MB of RAM (video RAM or VRAM) or better

Software

A Windows 2000 or better Active Directory environment. Windows SMTP Service installed and operational. Internet Explorer 6.0 is also required.

MDAC 2.8 is only required when using Windows Server 2000.
